Force Majeure clauses are in the spotlight currently. They have been fairly standard in most contracts for a long time. A common clause in that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, described by the legal term act of God, prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract.
The present situation has shown how many of them are badly worded or were just not up to the job when an event like the present pandemic emerged. Now we understand the consequences of a tiny virus it’s about time we got our act together on future contractual obligations.
rhw are offering, during the remainder of April and May, a FREE review of your Force Majeure contractual provision. Interested in finding out how we can help you or your business? Contact Nick Richardson on 01483 302000 or email email@example.com
